Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form, continues to maintain its position as the college achieving the best A-Level results in the area.
For the third year running, students have achieved an outstanding 99% pass rate, beating the national average again this year.
More than two thirds of learners achieved the highest grades and once again 19 subjects achieved 100% pass rate.
Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form College is in the top 10% of A-Level providers nationally.

Stephanie Barrett
The former Blue Coat High School pupil received an impressive 420 UCAS points gaining an A* in Business Studies, and 2 A grades in English Language and Sociology. Stephanie plans to study Sociology at degree level at Manchester University. After collecting her results Stephanie said “I really enjoy research and studying crime and society which sociology covers. It’s been hard work but all worth it in the end. I’d really like to thank all of the teachers at Hyde Clarendon”
Adam Miller
Through his hard work and dedication Adam gained an A-mazing 400 UCAS points. The former Two Trees student achieved a fantastic four A Levels, achieving an A grade in Geography, 2 Bs in History and English Combined studies and a C in Human Biology. Adam plans to take a year out before continuing his education at Manchester University to study Geography at degree level. After university, Adam hopes to become a Teacher. Adam said he may travel or work during his year off, but will miss the special environment at Hyde Clarendon. “It’s been a wonderful experience and I’ve enjoyed working and meeting new people and it’s been like one happy family here,” he said.
Amanda Simpson
Celebrating A-stounding A-level results was Amanda Simpson. Amanda gained an impressive 430 UCAS points and is now heading off to Leicester University to study Law. The former St Thomas More pupil achieved an A* in Maths, and 2 A grades in English Language and Law. She also completed an Extended Project scoring a B grade. Amanda commented “I’ve wanted to study Law since I was much younger.” Summing up her time at Hyde Clarendon, Amanda praised the “really nice environment and nice teachers’
Mo Uddin
Mo scored 2 impressive A grades in Chemistry and Mathematics, plus a C grade in Biology, adding up to 320 UCAS points. The former Astley High School pupil plans to go to John Moores University in Liverpool and he eventually aims to work in Business.
And not forgetting our AS level top performers…
AS Level student Chelsea Hall, was celebrating 4 fantastic results – she achieved As in Psychology and Media Studies and Bs in English Language and Sociology she will continue with here A level studies for one year and hopes ultimately to achieve As and A* when she completes her A levels. “I’d like to go to Durham or Leeds University to study Psychology”. The former Alder Community High School pupil praised the special atmosphere where she has made lots of friends and the supportive teaching staff.
AS Level student Rebecca McKenzie who also previously attended Alder Community High School gained 2 A grades in Media Studies and Psychology and 2 grade Bs in English Literature and History. Rebecca said, “One of best things about Hyde Clarendon is that you get to know everyone from all the different areas of the college because it’s such a small and friendly place. It also has a perfect balance between working hard and socialising with friends. You can just be yourself and reach your full potential.”
