Staff and students from Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form College Sports department took time out to watch the range of activities on display at the BP Paralympic World Cup 2010, in Manchester.

The Paralympics World Cup was created to provide an annual World Class Multi-Sport Disability Event for elite international athletes, bridging the gap between the four yearly Paralympic Games.

Four sports are paramount since the Paralympic World Cup’s inception in 2005. They include Athletics, Swimming, Track Cycling and Wheelchair Basketball.

Sports tutor, Tracey Lowe said “The visit was excellent and all of our students really enjoyed the event and the activities.”

The BT Paralympic World Cup has reasserted its position in the International Calendar as providing world class competition and a platform for British Athletes to showcase disability sport in the biggest multi-sport competition outside the Paralympic Games.
