National Diploma Public Services students from Hyde Clarendon took part in an activity day ran by Tameside Council with the local Fire & Rescue Service in Stalybridge. They attended lectures on safe driving, a demonstration on casualty extraction, simulator training and a free driving lesson with a local driving school.
Students Dale King & Matthew Curley thought that the activity was very well organised and to actually drive for the first time was a real buzz.

Clinton Greenhalgh thought that the driving simulator was great fun and the driving awareness presentation had made him aware of the dangers of driving under the influence of drink and drugs.
Public Services lecturer, Andy Dixon commented ‘For students to have these activity days laid on by the Fire & Rescue Service, in conjunction with their local authority, is helping to build great links with local employers.’
