Law AS & A2
This course provides an excellent introduction to the study
of Law. Students find the material covered on the course
interesting, challenging and relevant. It is designed to prepare
you for entrance to university.
The course covers a wide range of
legal topics and issues including crime, the courts, and sentencing
and asks such questions as, what is the difference between a
solicitor and a barrister, where do judges come from and what is
justice? In the past there have been visits to London for law
conferences to Parliament and ‘The Old Bailey’. There are also
visits to the local magistrates courts in Ashton-under-Lyne and
the crown court in Manchester.
