Government and Politics AS & A2
Government & Politics is a dynamic and modern course for students interested
in current political debates such as where does power really lie and why the number
of people voting in elections is declining. It encourages analysis of the changing
dynamics of modern politics and also develops skills in analysing and evaluating
information, and constructing and communicating clear and coherent arguments.
At AS the specification gives a broad understanding of the UK political system,
including the role of elections, political parties and pressure groups and how policy
is made. A2 covers issues which are central to the study of modern politics, including
US politics, the environment, ideologies, globalisation, power, devolution and the
EU.
Entry requirements are 5 GCSE grades at C or above, including English.
