Film Studies - AS/A2

Film is now being regarded by many as one of our most important art form's, with each film being seen as a social document of its time.

During the course you firstly study film form, narrative and genre, where you will develop skills in 'reading' films for the Directors intentions. These skills will then be further applied to Hollywood, British and World Cinema where you will be encouraged to develop your own response to examples before finally employing your learnt knowledge by making your own short film.

Hyde Clarendon is superbly equipped with a big screen and surround sound facilities making for a realistic "cinematic experience". The only drawback to Film Studies is that you will never be able to watch a film in the same way again!
