English Literature - AS/A2

In English Literature you will be able to study a wide variety of plays, poetry and drama from the 17th century to the present day. The teaching is varied and well resourced and videos, tape recordings and visits to the theatre all help to make the texts studied accessible and enjoyable.

Over the two years you will:

  • Study 2 Shakespeare plays
  • An anthology of poetry from 1770 to the present day
  • A pre-1900 novel
  • A modern play
  • A modern novel
  • A collection of modern poetry
  • A seventeenth century play
