Accounting AS & A2

Are you looking for a well-paid career? If so, come and study accounting. Accounting complements many other subjects,including Business Studies, Mathematics, Economics and IT. Within the subject you will look at how companies draw up their final accounts.It is both interesting and challenging.

You will look at problems businesses face with regard to cash flow and how they can improve. Learning how to analyse company accounts can be enlightening, using real companies. 

Business Studies - AS/A2

This popular subject is taken by students who want to study the workings of the thriving and rapidly changing business world. You will study aspects of management, marketing, finance and human resources via case studies, trips, guest speakers and interactive learning materials.The subject is brought to life by looking at real business events as they happen and will focus on a wide range of businesses from multi-national companies to small and medium sized enterprises.

The study of business studies will give you the knowledge and skills to enter any area of employment and provides an understanding of commerciality that all employers require. Students can progress to Higher Education to study a range of Business related subjects.

Economics - AS

Would you like to find out how the price of a barrel of oil is determined or how the Bank of England makes interest rate decisions and how that effects you? If you are interested in keeping up with current affairs and want to understand the economic issues covered in the news you will enjoy studying economics. Through this course you will learn about economic theories and how to apply them to the events reported in the news.

You will examine how the economy works and investigate a variety of topics including inflation, unemployment and international trade. You will learn by a range of methods including discussion of current affairs, reading, presentations, case studies and essays. Economics complements many other subjects including Accounting, Business and Maths.
