Art and Design AS & A2 (Fine Art)
This course is designed to introduce you to a variety of experiences exploring a range of media, processes and techniques (painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, printmaking, photography, animation and more).
You will explore relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times. Your responses to these examples will be shown through practical and critical activities. You will explore drawing using a variety of methods and media on a variety of scales. Underpinning your work will be the use of sketchbooks/workbooks/journals.
This course is appropriate for you if you wish to study Art and Design at Higher Education or if you have a creative and enthusiastic mind. A minimum of a grade C in GCSE Art and Design and a portfolio of work are required for you to study this course.
Art and Design AS & A2 (Graphics)
There is a big difference between the type of Graphics you may
already study at school to what you will study at Hyde Clarendon.
A Level Graphic Design is an exciting and original course which
focuses on printed media such as magazines, posters advertising
campaigns and more. The course is designed to introduce you to a
variety of experiences, exploring a range of graphic media and
techniques.
You will study a wide range of graphics and create work in areas
of design including Illustration, Typography, Advertising, Corporate
Identity and Image Manipulation.
You will learn how to use software such as Adobe Photoshop,
Illustrator & In Design, which will prepare you for working in the
design industry or give you the creative edge you need
to get into University.
During the course you will develop and demonstrate an
understanding of the meaning, function, style, colour and content
in relation to your Graphic Design project. You will build an
awareness of intended audiences and respond to issues, concepts
and ideas by working to a brief.
