Students, tutors and staff at Fluid Creativity in Hyde
HND/HNC students from Computing and Graphic Design spent an afternoon at Fluid Creativity’s Graphic Design studios in Hyde. The visit enabled them to gain an insight into current practices and technologies used in the web development industry.
Students were given an opportunity to undertake a web development task using the most up-to-date version of PHP, one of the programming languages used to develop websites. Fluid Creativity will be reviewing their work and has offered one week’s work-placement opportunity to the student who has created the best website. Students came away from the visit highly motivated and were very enthusiastic about completing the task they had been given.
John Pywell commented after the visit: “We feel privileged to have the multiple award-winning team at Fluid Creativity take the time to explain to our students all aspects of their work. We were impressed with the efficiency of their set-up and how they make the most of the specialisms and skills of each of their staff, from designers and code developers to search engine specialists and animators. The fact that each of their staff need to continually update their skills and master cutting-edge technology to produce the best possible product for their clients is a sober lesson for our students who may fall into the trap of relying purely on their qualification to succeed in the industry.”
