Students at the Manchester Museum
AS Graphics students from Hyde Clarendon visited Manchester Museum and took a Climate Change tour as part of their Climate Change project. The tour started with a historic view to how Manchester has changed over centuries and how climate has played its part in the past.
Climate change is the burning issue of the day that everyone should be involved in tackling. ‘Future Fest’ encourages debate, ideas and activities designed to show people how easy it is to reduce their carbon footprint. Whether it's watching the Copenhagen Summit via the live video link or checking out the world's first solar powered cinema, this all helps to educate people and raise awareness of the issue. The students continued their visit with the curator of the Herbology department where they were shown samples and catalogues which provide evidence to support their theories.
The tour concluded with a visit to the Reptile House where students saw how climate change and destruction are affecting wildlife in their natural habitats. Overall the students had a great time at the Museum and learned a lot from the experience.
